1. Before Going to a Fast Food, Look at the Best Options:
Before you head out to a fast food, decide what you’re going to eat. Check out our guides or do your own research. In pretty much every menu, there will be food items that are 300-500 calories. Conversely, there will also be options that end up at 1500 calories or more. So know the numbers and decide what you want to get before heading out.![]()
2. Don’t Go For Meal Deals:
A large meal (burger, large fries, and large coke) will total the 1500 calories we just mentioned. Yes, they may save a little bit of money but how much do they cost in terms of calories?
3. Instead, Create Your Own Meals:
A meal doesn’t necessarily consist of a burger, fries and a coke. It can be just a burger & a small coke or a salad, fries and water. For example: At KFC you can get a Roaster Caesar Salad with Golden Italian Light Dressing (250 Calories) & a KFC Snacker (300 Calories) for a total of 550 Calories.

4. Go Subway 6”:
Almost all of the 6” sandwiches at subway are about 300-400 calories. So this is always a good option to pick. If you’re hungry and there’s a subway nearby, grab any of 6” Sandwiches.
5. If You’re Looking for a Quick Bite, Make it Just That!
If you’re going for a quick bite at a fast food, make it just that. Have your “real” meal when you get home. Grab a small burger and maybe a small coke and that’s it.
6. Tomato Ketchup/Mustard = Good Choices:
1 packet of tomato ketchup = 10-15 calories. Skip the special sauces/mayonnaise & go with ketchup.
7. Pack your Lunch the Night Before:
If you want to avoid Fast Food altogether, figure out why you’re ending up in fast foods. It’s most likely because of the convenience. Get into a habit of packing your lunch the night before, so you have an even easier alternative at hand.
